Book Stack I

Yes folks, when it rains it pours. Seriously, In about 4 days I am heading up to PA to visit family with A. and I may not get time to blog soo I am getting it all out now.

Ian is not heading up with us cause he has to work, if there is work, and has plans to redo our center room which we call the Drunken Library, and the hallway. Including pulling up the nasty ancient carpet and redoing the wood floors. It would be difficult to do this room with the family at home cause it is the room everyone goes thru to access the rest of the house. So before I leave I have been helping clear the room, Here are most of the books we own, stacked in another room of the house (I say most cause there is a contingent in the craft/guest room, bins full of paperbacks in the attic, and a horde of kids books in A. room.) we are book people.

In baby news Annabeth has begun standing and walking on her own with no assistance, she still will not go far, but we see small progress everyday. In addition she is starting to say words we can't understand..for example today she kept saying "amno" which we could not understand, animal? Then tonight when she pointed a picture of Elmo and said this again...OHHH. Why do you as the parent feel like the idiot?

Sounds like A is making progress. I remember those days of trying to figure out "toddler speak." When my oldest son was little he kept asking me for something. For the life of me I could not figure out what he was trying to tell me. Finally I told him, "Show me what you want." He walked over to the refirgerator and started banging on the door. I opened it and he took out a loaf of bread. He wanted a piece of bread. Now, what he was saying had not resemblence to the word "bread", but after showing me what he needed, he made himself understood. Hang in there. It does get easier!

We just turned our formal living room into a library. I originally wanted wall to wall, floor to ceiling shelves on the largest wall, but it would have involved ripping out carpet, so instead DH bolted 5 bookcases from Ikea (their Billy collection) to the wall. With the extension units, they reach almost to the ceiling, and there's about a foot on either side of the ends.

Two cases are mine, two are his, and the center one has glass shelves and doors where we display some of our collected pieces and family "treasures". I haven't taken pictures yet, but I love, love, love how it came out. Email me at sweetpeastitches @ yahoo.com if you're interested and I'll take a picture for you.

Eventually, you'll know what it means and the other adults she comes in contact with will feel like the idiots. ;)

That's wonderful that A is making progress! Ayame can't say Milk. She says Muck. Chickpeas are Pickpeas. And the best one? Fish is Sip! LOL. You'll get the hang of it. :)
