She may kill me

Taking care of everybody

Annabeth has now officially started her 3rd week of life and is in a complete day/night reversal. For the past week she was in a funky 6 hour cycle, 6 hours up and eating, 6 hours asleep, repeat until parents scream. And of course right after the pediatrician appt and I get reassurance that this is normal, she changes it up--She slept all day yesterday (breaking every 2/3 hours for food of course). and was up all night long. 10-5. Feeding every hour. Around 2 am I had to walk away completely. Ian tried to pick up the slack but I still had to get up and feed her every hour. It is like working a different shift every week.

Breastfeeding has gotten a bit better, but it is still painful. We have ruled out the usual suspects including a poor latch and thrush. I am just blessed/cursed with extremely sensitive nipples AND a strong feeder for a newborn. "Oh joy , oh rapture, unforseen"

Very happy baby! Very happy cat! Slightly frazzled mom. Great picture. Hang in there.

Sounds like she's in a growth spurt...there are main ones at about 3 weeks, 6 weeks, then around 3 months.

If she's super fussy and you can't seem to do anything that she likes, try running the vacuum cleaner. The noise will often soothe a little one. Plus you get a chance to do a little cleaning...LOL!

Honestly, it *does* get better. :-)

The vibration and noise works wonders.
Nursing was hell for me for the first six weeks. I was in pain all the time. When I got past six weeks, everything got better.
Annabeth is absolutely beautiful, look at that dark hair! Take care of you, too.

Goodness Annabeth, you are wearing your mommy out! You look great, though, both of you. :) Hang in there!

All I can say to you is..."and this too shall pass". Hang in there, and enjoy every painful, sleepless, moment of it. She will turn into a teenager and then you will wish you were back with these sleepless kinds of nights!
Honestly, I would not trade anything for all my years with my little ones, now turned into their twenties.
